Happiness in a Box

To celebrate Hanna's recent graduation from elementary school, me and Jim decided it was time for her to get that phone she's been wanting for a few years.

Happiness for Hanna.

In hindsight I'm not sure it's such a good idea to have a bunch of eleven/twelve year olds texting and calling each other at all times of the day.  I'm now a cellphone police among many other things.  Jim is the lieutenant.

Rookie of The Year

Good times!  James and the Pirates celebrated the season on Sunday afternoon with swimming and rewards.  James was selected Rookie of the Year.  Easy choice since he was the only rookie on the team but I have to say we were so surprised how good he did.  Such a great season on an awesome team.

For Better or Worse

The kids were lucky enough to go with me and Jim to their very first wedding on Saturday.  We all got dressed up, Jim in a borrowed tux jacket from the eighties and me in an old dress from Target (Zac Posen though) that I've been too fat to wear for a few years.  The kids of course were all dressed in new designer outfits.

Later we ditched the kids and parents and headed to the after party at the W hotel by ourselves.  And that's why the extra pounding in the head today.

Out and About

Started the night with a great dinner at Tomo and ended it with a glass of bubbly at the Whiskey Blue.

The dreamy look in the disco ball shirt.

Done

Baseball season is officially over after the Pirates lost to the mighty Phillies in last night's playoff game.  James has truly enjoyed himself his first season of baseball and was lucky to be drafted by a team with five great, fun, nice coaches that was not into yelling.  Rare.

Not too sad about the loss.  Mostly happy about just being around his friends.  None of whom he knew a few months ago.

Still some fun left as we have the end of the season party this weekend with swimming and margaritas.

My Day

Mother's Day, the day of all days.  Oh so important.  I woke up on Sunday to homemade cards, lip balm and gluten free waffles.  Jim of course bought in on Valentine's Day for the year when he got me my weekly training appointments.  The best gift ever!  We spent part of the day at Jim's parents' house where we enjoyed some bubbly and a delicious salmon salad for lunch.
